Gilbert & Sheppard at NAHB’s Annual IBS Conference

2019 marks the 75th Anniversary of the International Builders’ Show (IBS), an annual conference and expo presented by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The Show is the largest in the world of its kind. Thousands of home building industry professionals from around the globe will gather for the expo and for several days of educational seminars, presentations, and special programs.

Kerrie Gilbert and Betsy Sheppard, founders of Gilbert & Sheppard Group, will be involved in this year’s conference in a variety of roles.

Kerrie will participate in a panel offering insights about developing and marketing a 55+ Active Adult community: “Sweet Home Alabama: A Case Study in Creating a Thriving 55+ New Home Neighborhood”. The panel will review the successes and challenges faced by the team behind The Springs of Mill Lakes, which enjoyed home sales of nearly 50 percent in its first year and won eight NAHB Best of 55+ Housing Awards in 2018.

Kerrie will also participate in the 3rd of a 3-part series: “Anatomy of a 55+ Relaunch: Integrated Marketing & Social Media.” The discussion will explore how a mix of traditional marketing, online marketing and social media avenues influenced inquiries and engagement from 55+ home buyers.

Meanwhile, Betsy will take the reins as Membership Chair and Board Advisor for the 55+ Housing Industry Council and Vice Chair of NAHB’s Professional Women in Building Council (PWB). Betsy has worked in PWB leadership roles nationally, regionally and locally, and has been nominated for PWB National Woman of the Year. Betsy will also be attending NAHB Board meetings as one of Atlanta’s National Directors.

Each year the NAHB’s IBS Conference includes awards ceremonies for specific areas of professional excellence in the housing industry. Again this year, Gilbert & Sheppard Group’s clients have entered several categories for “Best of 55+ Marketing Awards.” Stay tuned! The results will be announced after the ceremony.
